DC Titans (Season 2 Review)

Titans Season 1 is about a police detective (also a vigilante by night) named Dick Grayson who took a case of Rachel, a troubled girl with issues of supernatural elements. This took them on a road trip where they came across various individuals and groups, some who ended up joining them. The story concluded with Rachel finally confronting her demon, with the involvement of all the people they gather along the way. (The story of Season 1 ends in Episode 1 of Season 2.)

Season 2, on the other hand, is about Dick Grayson confronting a mistake he'd made in the past. He had a clash with a super-powered assassin, Slade Wilson, that led to the disbanding of his previous vigilante group. Now Slade is back to ensure Dick continues to be punished when the assassin found out that Dick has assembled a new team. All while members of both his old and new teams were going through their own personal conflicts.

We can safely assume that the common theme of the Netflix series is about the team sorting out their members' personal issues. The finale of Season 2 has already hinted that the next Titan in line might be Koriand'r, an alien from the planet Tamaran, as her evil sister has finally landed on Earth.

The thing about the Titans series is, there's quite a number of characters involved, overshadowing the actual stories trying to be told. This is unsurprising because they are popular comic book characters who have been around for decades. It's difficult to pass them as secondary characters. But then again, if we replace them with brand new characters, we probably won't be able to appreciate the series as it is.
