Red Ded Redemption 2 (PS4 Game Review)
Red Dead Redemption 2 is actually a prequel to Red Dead Redemption. The main character for the game is Arthur Morgan, a gun-slinging outlaw. Arthur with his band of horse riding criminals led by Dutch Van Der Linde was on the run from the town of Blackwater due to a failed heist. Chapter 1 starts as the band was trying to cross a mountain path thick with snow to get away from pursuing authorities. Subsequent chapters will take them on a journey throughout early 20th century America.
The interesting thing about Red Dead Redemption 2 is each chapter feels different. The visuals are beautifully done and you get to ride different horses and wear various outfits throughout most of the chapters. Even though there is a fast travel option available mid game, I still prefer to free roam in the open world map. This is attributed to the Cinematic Camera option which focuses on the player and the horse from different angles and switches automatically every few seconds which made travels much more bearable and frankly more enjoyable.
One thing I like about the game is you do not need to complete the side quests in order to build up your character to face the later chapters. It is an action-adventure game after all, not an RPG. However, it does shake things up a bit by making them considerably more challenging. Finished it in four weeks at an average of an hour per day, longer on weekends, bringing the total play time to about 30+ hours focusing on the main objectives.
Definitely going to do a second playthrough. This time I will definitely collect all the breed of horses I can get and purchase all the outfits I can buy. Probably will finally be using fast travel to complete all those side quests. Will be customizing my weapons too. I believe I can get my revolvers fully gold plated. Not sure about weapons upgrade, maybe it will make a difference playing at a higher difficulty, I cannot confirm.

Two characters that I would love to see in upcoming Red Dead Redemption titles are Sadie Adler and Charles Smith, both are in the game from the very beginning. The new game may expand down to South America or up north to Canada. They are just rich with different kinds of landscapes and various species of animals and are the most logical next locations to go. I would also be excited to revisit the previous game, Red Dead Redemption to replay John Marston (this game makes you want to), but I guess I will wait for a Remastered edition. And throw in the Cinematic Camera into that game!
